Questions
What counts as a request? +
Each successful search, retrieve, reverse or resolve-region call costs one credit (HTTP JSON 2xx or gRPC status 0). Autocomplete and regions consume no credits, but remain authenticated and share your account rate limit. Autocomplete returns labels and IDs; retrieving a selected location costs one credit. Errors and rejected calls are free.
Can I store the results? +
Yes, forever, on every plan, including the free one. Keep the data attribution where you show results.
What happens when I run out of requests? +
Billable operations answer 429 until your next billing period starts, or until you buy a credit pack or move to a bigger plan. Autocomplete and regions remain available at zero credits. You are never billed for usage beyond what you bought.
What happens when I exceed the rate limit? +
HTTP requests return 429 with Retry-After; gRPC returns RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED. The limit is shared across all API keys on your account and is approximate across our replicas, with a small burst allowance. Uneven routing can cause throttling below the nominal rate. Choose a higher plan for more requests per second. Credit packs add volume, not speed.
Are there daily limits? +
No. Use your monthly requests whenever you need them, subject to your account’s per-second rate limit.
How do credit packs work? +
Packs add requests on top of any plan, including the free one. Your plan's requests are used first, then packs, oldest first. Packs expire 12 months after purchase.
Can I change or cancel my plan? +
Anytime, from the dashboard. Upgrades apply immediately.
Do you offer dedicated capacity or self-hosting? +
Yes, on Enterprise: dedicated clusters for bulk geocoding, an SLA, and a licence to run it in your own cloud.
